Dental Hygiene
Our dental hygienists are committed to keeping your teeth clean, preventing oral health problems, educating you on dental health, and making you as comfortable as possible during your visits. Specifically, we will remove plaque, tartar and stain from your teeth, polish them, and floss them in addition to examining you for common dental health issues including tooth decay, gum disease, and bite issues.
If you are suffering from plaque buildup along or below the gum line, you may also be suffering from infected gums and periodontal disease. Tooth scaling and planing, also known as non-surgical periodontal therapy, is a way for a dentist to deep clean your teeth beneath the gum line and help restore your mouth’s health. This procedure can be extremely effective especially when paired with site-specific antibiotics and especially if they patient continues to clean their teeth and gums thoroughly after the treatment.
Regular cleaning of your teeth is something everyone should do as part of a routine dental health maintence. Prophy cleaning is the standard dental cleaning procedure for healthy gums and teeth. It should be performed reguarly to keep you dental health and hygiene strong.
Scaling and Root Planing are procedures we specalize in for those with periodontal disease. It is a more advanced and deep clean to help treat periodontal disease. Our team will help you feel totally comfortbale with all of our dental cleaning prodecures and with Scaling and Root Planing we may complete the prodecure over a couple visits for maximun comfort and a better clean.
Regular Scaling and Root Planing will help negate the adverse effects of periodontal disease and make it harder for bacteria to grow and spread.
Proper Dental Hygiene is vitally important to the longevity of our dentition. By removing debris and bacteria from our teeth regularly we prevent the progression of tooth decay and gum disease.
